Westminster-Thurber Community

Goodale Landing stands as a bold new landmark for the City, with a design approach that is respectful of the local historic and urban context. The degree of elevated luxury and comfort, incorporated into the design of this independent senior living project, is innovative to the senior living market

Goodale Landing represents a significant expansion to an already thriving Westminster-Thurber Community. While empowering residents with the independence of open apartment-style living in several of our plan options, an important design factor is for residents to feel connected to the local community and the broader city of Columbus. Large apartment living and dining areas with wall to wall expanses of storefront glass, balconies, and sunrooms provide ample natural light and breathtaking views of the city skyline to the South and residential urban fabric to the Ohio State University Campus to the North.

To form a connection to its neighborhood, the building draws its design cues from the residential Victorian Village aesthetic, primarily expressed in the roof forms and rusticated base. A resemblance of form and material gives the impression of an “elevated urban neighborhood” within the Columbus Skyline. The eighth-floor community room and roof terrace forms a community plaza for resident social gathering while offering a platform for which to connect visually with the city beyond.
